Climate Club 2021
In July and August 2021, students from the City of Norwood participated in the Avenues for Success Summer Blast Camp. One component of camp was a twice-weekly meeting of Climate Club. Climate Club was a joint effort of the We Engage 4 Health project and the Participatory Mapping Study to Keep Norwood Cool project.
Climate Club focused on helping campers gain skills and practice as citizen scientists. During Climate Club they read stories about citizen science; did hands-on activities to develop understanding; and collected heat, pollution, and tree census data around Norwood Middle School.
As a culminating activity of Climate Club, campers shared what they found out from collecting environmental data by creating scientific posters presented to the community. The posters can be viewed below
